Featured Item. Green Bow Crystal Earrings

The featured item for Fashion Magpie Jewellery this week is the Green Bow and Crystal Earrings.
Made to be light weight and wearable for everyday use, I have made them from a gold bow charm which I painted with green patina ink and then distressed to bring back some of the shiny gold again. This has given the bows a weathered look which I sealed with glaze to help preserve the effect.
Below the bow is a tear drop clear crystal which gives a nice contrast to the weathered bow.

Set on bronze ear wires, these cute little bow and crystal earrings are £6.00 with £1.95 UK postage and packaging, I also post to Europe, Untied States and Canada.

New in October for Fashion Magpie Jewellery

Welcome to Octobers catch up for Fashion Magpie Jewellery, where you can get up to date with the latest from my shop.
In October I Signed up for 5th December market, back at Morpeth town hall in Northumberland. It's promising to be better then last time but we'll have to wait and see. It's on the same day as the towns farmers market again which is right outside the doors. This time instead of being down stairs we'll be upstairs in the grand hall, while another craft fair set up by the children of the town will occupy the downstairs hall we where in before.
October has been a month of trying to balance life just right (which I'm still perfecting!) I've been doing the supervisor job at my day job and then coming home to try and find time for my shop which I must admit I prefer pouring my time into. I won't lie, it has been a struggle to juggle them both, but this shop means the world to me and I'm passionate about helping it succeed, so in the end it's worth it, just tiring!
Below are the items I've made in October, hope you like them!

Folksy Friday. Time to snuggle up at home.

In this Folksy Friday I'm focusing on the cosier side to this time of year. Out side it maybe getting colder but inside we can enjoy the comforts of home, made a little easier with these 5 buys I have selected to show you.
When I was choosing which pieces to feature I kept an image in my mind of coming home to a warm house with a fire and blankets to snuggle up into, the colour I kept thinking of was warm reds and cinnamon. The patterns where Scandinavian and geometric prints. Of course everyone is different this is just my interpretation.

1. First thing i do after a cold walk home is put the kettle on for a cup of tea.
These cupcake tea bags are made by Cush-N-Craft.

2. If it's a particularly cold day I like to make up a hot water bottle with the left over water from the kettle after my cup of tea.
I love the colours in this hot water bottle cover by Selvage.

3. So you got your cup of tea and hot water bottle, it time to cosy up now with some woolly hedgehog socks by Fir Tree Knitwear

4. The next step of 'operation get warm and cosy' is to get a blanket. This gorgeous red rustic blanket box is both styles hand practical. It's a beautiful piece of work by Very Woody Things
