Treasury Tuesday. Helping you with the perfect weddings.

Every week I show you a treasury from Etsy.com which I have either made or been featured in. A treasury is a list anyone on Etsy can make which has a common theme. This week I'm featuring treasuries I've been featured in which have the theme of weddings.
I find these treasuries particularly useful for planning my own wedding and love browsing what people have found to feature in their wedding themed treasury.

The first treasury I'm going to show you is a one called Wonderful Weddings by Hectors House Craft. This treasury has some beautiful wedding dresses and I love the bunting.

The piece I have featured in this treasury is the Wedding Leaf Earrings, which are available from my shop for £6.

The second treasury today I have to show is called Bridal Bliss by The Moss Root Designs. I love the candles in this treasury, I've tried to make some them before and found it's much more difficult then it looks.

In this treasury the piece I have featured is my lovely Long Dangling Earrings, also for £6.

Throwback Thursday. Piaget watchmakers and jewellers

Throwback Thursday is a post I do weekly in which I write about either a jewellery company, an individual or a famous jewel from history. This week I will tell you about the watch maker and jewellers called Piaget.

Piaget is named after the family who run the business which was founded in 1874 by Georges Edouard Piaget. Georges set the business up from the family farm in La Cote-aux-Fees in the Swiss Jura Mountains. The business thrived as a watchmakers and they began to make up new movements to make watches lighter, and more mobile. By the 1960s two generations later, Yves Piaget had taken over and they where making brooch watches, ring watches, cuff link watches and coin watches. They had also moved into making jewellery, applying their same attention to detail and fashions as there watches.

Now the company was ready for bigger premises and moved to Geneva where they opened a bigger factory and their first boutique. The factory is the largest jewellery workshop in Geneva.
There innovative mix of watches and jewellery caught the eye of high sociality  and people such as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis where seen wearing the pieces.
In the 1970's the company started to make a new trend of luxury bracelet watch they named Polo after Yves favourite sport. The time piece did very well and the design can be seen still on the high street today.
In the late eighties Piaget was acquired by the Richemont luxury conglomerate.
Today the brand is still going strong and still loved by A listers such as Angelina Jolie Pitt and Rihanna.

Treasury Tuesday. Depth by Oksana

Every week I feature a Etsy treasury I'm either featured in or have made myself. A treasury is a list you can make on Etsy.com which has a common theme. This week I'm featuring a treasury I've been included in called Depth by Oksana.

I think this is one of my favourite treasuries Fashion Magpie Jewellery has been included in so far, the colours are fantastic and the items are all something I'd buy for myself.
The piece I have included in it is my midnight blue necklace and earrings set which was also in the handmadeuk winter showcase last December.

Featured Item. Rose and Laurel Necklace

Every Sunday I feature a item from my shop, Fashion Magpie Jewellery. This week is the Laurel and Rose Necklace.

This necklace has a simple design I made last December 2014. I has a cross filigree which is wrapped around a bronze wreath of laurels and berries. In the centre I glued a peach coloured rose which fits perfectly in the middle. It almost feels like it was meant for that space!
The chain is made up of 4mm beads I brought from Hobbycraft with my birthday money (my birthday is also in December.) The colour of the beads go really well with bronze, they look the same colour as a cup of tea when in the light.

On Etsy this necklace is one of my top 5 items with favourites! It has 140, something I'm quite proud of.
It measures inches and sits just below the collar bone, making it perfect for a top with a cowl neck jumper or scoop neck top.

If you'd like to buy the laurel and rose necklace it will come wrapped and in an organza gift bag
All the pieces I make are one of a kind and can be brought from my shop called Fashion Magpie Jewellery.
The Laurel and Rose Necklace is £12.50 with £3.20 UK postage and packaging. I also post aboard.

New in April to Fashion Magpie Jewellery

Sometimes it's hard to keep up with all the goings on in your favourite shops, so once a month I write this blog post to help catch you up on the newest items to Fashion Magpie Jewellery.
Some of you may have noticed my new branding for Fashion Magpie Jewellery, Its something I've wanted to do for some time now and decided recently that it was about time I took it off the to do list. The design is by a company called Lily Rose Branding and included a logo, cover picture, flyers and business cards all for a very reasonable £25. It was the last day for this excellent offer so I took it. What do you think of Fashion Magpie Jewellery's new logo?

Also new for Fashion Magpie Jewellery is the chance to sell my jewellery in a shop, there currently on a trial basis at a new shop in Hexham, Northumberland showcasing the best of local artists. This is quite an exciting opportunity and I'm hoping that the pieces I've selected have done well enough to stay permanently. If you would like to visit the shop it is called Gifted and is located next to Natwest on St Marys Wynd, Hexham. I'm also in negotiation with a shop in Eldon Gardens in Newcastle Upon Tyne, but it's still early days yet! (Fingers crossed!)

Below are the items which where added to my shop during April 2015.

Treasury Tuesday. Sunny Treasury

Welcome to treasury Tuesday. A treasury is a Etsy.com invention which allows people to make up a list of 16 items with a common theme. Each week I feature either a treasury I've been added to or a one that I have created, this week I'm featuring a treasury I made called Sunny.

I came up with the idea for this treasury as a way of cheering myself up. It's the 28th April and up until now the weather has been glorious. Unfortunately today so far we have had, hail followed by snow followed by more heavy hail followed by rain! So I decided I needed a reminder of the previous weeks good weather and wrote a post on the networking site I use on Facebook, UK Sellers NETWORKING Group, asking all the lovely Etsy crafters if they'd be kind enough to show me some of their beautiful sunny crafts. The response was fantastic and my phone rang all morning with the sound of crafts being posted on my ad.
After going through them all I picked out the final few and here is the results of my sunny inspired
treasury.

Featured Item. Green Embossed necklace

Every Sunday I feature a post from my shop, Fashion Magpie Jewellery. This week is the Green Embossed Necklace.

The thing I like the most about this necklace is the little 6mm fire polished beads, their lime green colour and added sparkle just drew me in and it was long before I had a project for them.
I looked up how there made and was interested to find that there made by pouring glass into round bead molds, then there given their facet with a grinding wheel before the beads are then reheated just long enough to melt the top layer of the bead, which gets rid of any imperfections and gives a polished look, hence the name fire polished. Learn something new everyday!
The pendant is a 50mm bronze setting with an embossed bronze coin in the centre and a filigree donut around the embossing. I brought the filigree a long time ago with a pack of similar items, but I had been keeping this piece for something special. I paired it with the leaf embossed coin which looked good but it was lacking that something else to 'finish' it off. The bronze pendant setting was that piece.
To match with the beads I painted the embossed centre with Moss Vintaj patina ink, then gave it a light sanding to bring the pattern forward again and reveal the metal. I then sealed it with Vintaj glaze to stop the metal shine on the pattern from fading with time.

If you'd like to buy the green embossed necklace they will come wrapped and in an organza gift bag
All the pieces I make are one of a kind and can be brought from my shop called Fashion Magpie Jewellery.
The Embossed Necklace it is £12.50 with £3.20 UK postage and packaging. I also post aboard.
