New in March to Fashion Magpie Jewellery

Each month I write a end of month blog post for the previous month, in it I tell you what Fashion Magpie Jewellery has been up to.
March was another quiet month for me so I decided to see what I could do to bring more visitors into my Facebook page and my Folksy/Etsy website shops.
On Facebook I have 226 likes for my page but I was consistently only getting about 15 to 20 views per a post, which is awful reach! I found I wasn't posting very often so my first step was just to post more. Step two was a follow on, I used the insights part of my page to see what people reacted to and at what times of the day my reach was best. Now I knew when to schedule posts and what to talk about. It seems to be working well so far, my post reach has shot up to 93 people on a popular post when I'm more then happy with.
As for my shops, I'm still working on them. I'm still selling the odd piece but no where near what I was, maybe it's just the time of year but I still have confidence, my shops will bounce back.
Of course one other piece of news is the addition of some new pieces to the shop which you can see below. Clicking on the title of the piece will take you through to my folksy.com shop for more details.

New in Janurary to Fashion Magpie Jewellery

January for Fashion Magpie Jewellery has been about developing new ideas and trying to build up stock levels again after the Christmas rush. As yet I've only listed the two items below but I have many more which are in various states of production to list as well so watch this space in February.
My plan for 2016 is to keep going as I have through 2015, it seems to be working so why try to fix something when it's not broken?!

New in October for Fashion Magpie Jewellery

Welcome to Octobers catch up for Fashion Magpie Jewellery, where you can get up to date with the latest from my shop.
In October I Signed up for 5th December market, back at Morpeth town hall in Northumberland. It's promising to be better then last time but we'll have to wait and see. It's on the same day as the towns farmers market again which is right outside the doors. This time instead of being down stairs we'll be upstairs in the grand hall, while another craft fair set up by the children of the town will occupy the downstairs hall we where in before.
October has been a month of trying to balance life just right (which I'm still perfecting!) I've been doing the supervisor job at my day job and then coming home to try and find time for my shop which I must admit I prefer pouring my time into. I won't lie, it has been a struggle to juggle them both, but this shop means the world to me and I'm passionate about helping it succeed, so in the end it's worth it, just tiring!
Below are the items I've made in October, hope you like them!

New In August To Fashion Magpie Jewellery

Welcome to my monthly blog post to get you up to date with Fashion Magpie Jewellery.
In August I started the month with a craft fair at Crawcrook. It was a busy little show in the middle of the town in the centre of the park. The sun shone for most of the day and the turn out was great, unfortunately it was also very windy in the part of the park which I had my stall. It was a new experience for me selling outside, and I struggled a bit with the wind. I spent most of my time setting my table up the way I wanted it after a gust blew it all away. That was lesson one I learnt, lesson two was that I have a lack of blue items of jewellery to sell and I missed out on sales because of this. However I welcome all these lessons that I learn at the fairs I do, with out them I can't progress.

The month of August has been a pretty quiet month so my focus has been on making the brand better and trying to research more ways to keep in touch with you, the fans of Fashion Magpie Jewellery. As you read this you will have noticed a pop up come onto your screen asking you to subscribe to my newsletter. The newsletter is something I've been working toward for a while now, I've decided to go with Mailchimp as my provider because I have the option of using an app to keep up with who has joined up. It can also provide options such as sending out personal newsletters to people who's birthday it is that month so I could give them a coupon code for my shop for that month.
I'll be using the newsletter to send out weekly updates on what blog posts I have published and any offers I have running at the moment, such as if I do a sale or I have a one day flash sale.

Another thing I have been busy with this month is trying to get my Etsy shop fully stocked to 100 items, I'm nearly there. Only 2 more items to go! One hundred items is meant to be the magic number for Etsy in terms of being seen, so I thought it couldn't hurt to try. My Folksy shop is already over the 100 items mark and is heading toward the 130th piece!

Lastly I wanted to tell you about a fair I will be doing this Saturday 5th September 2015 at Morpeth Town Hall, Northumberland. I love Morpeth, it's such a beautiful market town, it's always a pleasure to visit. This craft fair is the same day as the farmers market too, so if you do decide to come along there is plenty is do and visit. Hopefully it will be a successful day and who knows I may make this a monthly show to do!

Below is all the new makes I have listed for sale during August 2015, the links below each picture will take you to the item in my shop.

New in July To Fashion Magpie Jewellery

Published once a month this blog post is to help you keep up to date with Fashion Magpie Jewellery and tell you what has happened in the previous month.
It's been a quiet month of July for sales, compared to the last 2 months which has seen a lot of growth for the shop. However I have taken this as an opportunity to learn and progress by jewellery making and I have launched a new range of rings made out of some galvanised wire I found in a drawer. You can read more about it in a post I published earlier in the month for the first of these rings, the Steampunk cog ring.
Another skill I have decided to improve is making charm bracelets. I've decided these popular additions to my shop should be made more, so I've started to look into buying more charms and making themed bracelets. By themed I don't mean doing countless Disney inspired stuff, I don't think that's the way to go and getting the copyright to do that would be too much of a headache. I mean doing flower inspired, leaf inspired, owl inspired etc etc.
Lastly I think I'm going to stop doing so much of the silver jewellery and focus more on the bronze. I find the market for jewellery is already saturated enough that I need to set my self apart and I feel that bronze is the way to go. What do you think?
To start August 2015 off on the right foot, you will be able to find me on the 1st August at Crawcrook summer fair on the border with County Durham and Gateshead. I think this will be my biggest event to date which I have taken Fashion Magpie Jewellery to and it's outdoors which given the weather lately is making me a little nervous. Whatever the weather you will be able to find me ready to go and I hope it is a successful day. I will of course keep you up to date with how I do!

New in June to Fashion Magpie Jewellery

Once I month usually at the start of the month I publish this post to update you on what I've been up to here at fashion magpie jewellery.
In June I've been really busy with orders coming from both Etsy and Folksy.
The new tagging system on folksy seems to be working to encourage sales and I've been setting time a side every so often to work on my 100+ items in that shop. The new tags, are single words used to describe the item, I get five to use then if someone typed in one of those 5 words my item will come up in that search list.
Over on Etsy I've added a new weddings section to my shop, now that where in to weddings season.
Of course I've also been adding new items for sale in both shops also, which you can find below.

New in May to Fashion Magpie Jewellery

Welcome to my monthly blog post to tell you what is new in May at Fashion Magpie Jewellery. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with all the goings on in your favourite shops, so once a month I write this blog post to help catch you up on the newest items to Fashion Magpie Jewellery.
It's been a busy month this May with orders going as far away as the USA, Not bad for a little ran from Northumberland, England. I've been quite proud of my little business this month!
If you remember last month in April, I told you I moved some of my jewellery into a shop in Hexham called Gifted of Hexham. I popped by the other day to see how they where doing and found I had a pair of earrings had sold to a man who had brought them for his wife as a surprise present.
This month I've been hard at work trying to build up the listings in my Etsy shop, I'm aiming for 100 listing and I'm up to just over 70.
Unfortunately with all the promotion of Etsy my Folksy.com shop has been a little neglected, however I was pleased to find that even though I hadn't been promoting the shop was still doing well in it's stats and even kept on selling.
The pieces I've made this May have had a very pink and girly theme to them. My favourite piece has to be the donut bracelet, I think the donuts look beautiful if you study them closely. Within the initial pink you also find a wealth of purples and other shades of pink mingling together like water. Very happy with how they turned out.

New in April to Fashion Magpie Jewellery

Sometimes it's hard to keep up with all the goings on in your favourite shops, so once a month I write this blog post to help catch you up on the newest items to Fashion Magpie Jewellery.
Some of you may have noticed my new branding for Fashion Magpie Jewellery, Its something I've wanted to do for some time now and decided recently that it was about time I took it off the to do list. The design is by a company called Lily Rose Branding and included a logo, cover picture, flyers and business cards all for a very reasonable £25. It was the last day for this excellent offer so I took it. What do you think of Fashion Magpie Jewellery's new logo?

Also new for Fashion Magpie Jewellery is the chance to sell my jewellery in a shop, there currently on a trial basis at a new shop in Hexham, Northumberland showcasing the best of local artists. This is quite an exciting opportunity and I'm hoping that the pieces I've selected have done well enough to stay permanently. If you would like to visit the shop it is called Gifted and is located next to Natwest on St Marys Wynd, Hexham. I'm also in negotiation with a shop in Eldon Gardens in Newcastle Upon Tyne, but it's still early days yet! (Fingers crossed!)

Below are the items which where added to my shop during April 2015.
